Hello Olen! This paddling route on the Kempen Canal takes you along the green forest edges of Herentals, with a stop at Den Hertog when paddling makes you hungry or thirsty.

You'll depart from the Dobber location in the Herentals Marina, where the canal stretches long and straight in front of you. The water is calm, the environment rural and green. Ideal if you like to glide forward in peace without too many distractions. You follow the Kempen Canal in a westerly direction, with a cyclist or walker passing here and there along the banks.

After a while, restaurant Den Hertog pops up on the waterfront in Olen, an excellent spot to stop by. Then you will return to the marina via the same quiet canal route. The trip is a total of 7 km, but it doesn't feel far at all thanks to the nice surroundings and calm water.

Keep your eyes peeled because along the way, you'll often spot herons, grebes and various other waterbirds that feel completely at home along the canal.
