Fancy a relaxing trip that combines city and rest? This 4 km route winds right through Mechelen, past ancient buildings and a hidden city garden. Ideal for those looking for an active break with a touch of culture.
You will depart from our location at the Keerdok and follow the Dyle that winds through the center of Mechelen. While paddling, you get a unique view of the city, with historic buildings and charming bridges. The facades of βDe Devilsβ are immediately noticeable along the way: a colorful row of characteristic houses. A little further, looms the old Lamot Brewery, which today houses a bustling cultural center, with a link to Mechelen's beer past.
Further on, Huis De Zalm near the Fish Market marks one of the most beautiful waterfront sections, a former guild house with an impressive façade. Just before the turning point is the Kruidtuin, a cozy green haven in the middle of the city. Here you can take a break or just enjoy the silence before heading back to the Keerdok in the opposite direction.
