With Dobber, we have different starting points along the Leie, each with their own charm and possibilities:

1. Kayaking along the Leieboorden in Kortrijk

You start your trip at our locker in the heart of the city, near the Broel Towers. A perfect mix of culture and architecture awaits you along the way. Our paddling route around Buda Island is ideal if you want to get to know Kortrijk in a different way.

2. Suping in Sint-Martens Latem

If you want to take a more rural and scenic trip through the real Leie region, you can go supping from our location in Latem. The area is known for its many beautiful villas along the banks and beautiful landscapes.

3. Kayaking or supping in the historic heart of Ghent

You can explore the historic center of Ghent on a kayak trip from the Beestenmarkt. Another route takes you to the Portus Ganda.

From our second location in Ghent near the Keizerpoort, you can also easily paddle to both the city center and the somewhat wider parts of the river.

Where is the Leie region actually located?

The actual Leie region extends from Ghent to Kortrijk. The part between Drongen and Deinze, in particular, is ideal for paddling or kayaking on the Leie for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. The river flows quietly and winds its way through charming villages and beautiful nature.

Along the way, you can enjoy the chic villas of Sint-Martens Latem, a number of historic bridges such as the Astene lock, cool moorings and picturesque landscapes.

Practical tips for a successful kayaking trip on the Leie

• Check the weather and the current: the Leie is mostly calm, but a strong wind can influence your trip.

• Discover our paddling routes: how about, for example, a SUP route to the 3 Leien from Latem to Drongen? Or rather paddling through the city center of Ghent?
  
  
• Please wear comfortable clothes: quick-drying sportswear and water shoes are useful, especially if you're going supping.

• Respect nature: enjoy the surroundings, but don't leave any waste behind.
